The Shipston community has been helping the police to clear the roads of fallen trees.

Storm Eunice swept through the country last week, leaving quite a number of trees to come hurtling to the ground, blocking roads.

Luckily for the Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, locals were on hand to help out, with one man coming out in a tractor to help clear the obstructions.

A statement from Shipston SNT read: “When the community help out at times when a broom and plastic shovel just won’t do the trick!

“Thank you Dom Clews for your help throughout the weekend and clearing the road once again tonight.”

Mr Clews runs D.C Services, providing agricultural services throughout Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, and Oxfordshire.

He said: "I do it because no one else will.

"Sunday evening at 8pm my self and very helpful copper cleared the tree, he was armed with a broken broom that couldn’t clear up leaves if he tried, and a plastic shovel that would snap in two if he went as far as scooping a load of soil up with it."
